Get to Know Us

Barrow Gurney church was first built as part of a 13th century nunnery. It was then refurbished in the 19th century by the Gibbs family from Barrow Court and Tyntesfield.

High on the hill, the church is in an exceptionally beautiful setting. It is loved by many as a special place to celebrate major life events such as weddings or christenings, or just to sit peacefully. It is always open during the day.

On Sundays, services are held on alternate weeks with Flax Bourton church. We are a joint community and warmly welcome all.
